What are Tejas Coffees?

Coffees are one of the main ways for people outside the club to get involved with Tejas. Tejas Coffees are generously funded in part by the University Co-Op, and the club and it's guests are extremely grateful for their continued support.

Every Thursday evening at 9 p.m. during the spring and fall, a speaker is invited to come talk about a topic of interest at our house. The speakers are often professors but can be anyone with something interesting to talk about. The coffees are much different from normal classroom lectures in that the environment is very informal. Everybody sits in our living room on couches or comfortable chairs and feedback is strongly encouraged. Refreshments are served as people are mingling before and after the speaking portion. Club members are strongly encouraged to bring guests so they can meet other people as well as club members.

Speakers in the recent past have included Mark Yudof (Chancellor of UT system), Liz Carpenter, Rex Tillerson (CEO ExxonMobil), Rick Barnes (UT Head Basketball Coach), and Mack Brown (UT Head Football Coach).
